Our solicitor apprenticeship programme is aimed at school leavers who want to kick-start their career with us. The next intake will join our London office in September 2027. We recruit in Bristol and London in alternate years, which means the following intake will be based in our Bristol office in September 2028.

Our six-year programme combines practical experience with academic study, helping apprentices build key skills while developing their legal knowledge. One day each week is dedicated to study with The University of Law, working towards a law degree and the Solicitors Qualifying Exams. All tuition and exam fees are fully funded by the firm, and you’ll earn a salary throughout the programme.

In the first year, apprentices join our Legal Matter Support team, before completing three 12-month placements across different legal departments. The final two years are spent in the training contract rotation. This structure provides a broad and in-depth understanding of many areas of law, ensuring apprentices are well prepared for qualification.

The application process

Please note, due to exceptionally high demand for our London Solicitor Apprenticeship programme, we have brought the application deadline forward to Monday 9 November 2026. If you wish to apply, please ensure your application is submitted before this date to avoid missing out. Thank you.

Recruitment for our Solicitor Apprenticeship begins with an online application form, followed by our new online early talent assessment, introduced in September 2025.

This assessment has been designed specifically for RPC, following in-depth analysis of the attributes needed to succeed as a solicitor apprentice here. It explores your strengths, problem-solving ability, and motivations through a blend of behavioural, cognitive, and motivational exercises - giving us a well-rounded picture of your potential. At the end, you will also receive a personalised feedback report to support your development.

There are preparation tips and further guidance available on the Prep Hub.

If you are shortlisted, you will be invited to an in-person assessment day at our London office in February half term. During the day, you will take part in a variety of exercises designed to help us understand your potential and showcase your strengths. You will also meet some of our Partners, Associates and current Apprentices, giving you an authentic insight into life at RPC.

To be eligible, you will need

  • 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above (including Maths and English)
  • Minimum of 120 UCAS points – we accept any qualifications that accrue UCAS points

If you are successful, your apprenticeship will begin the following September.

Our anonymous recruitment process is inclusive and accessible to all. To learn more and see the adjustments available during recruitment or throughout your time at RPC, visit our inclusive recruitment and accessibility page.
