Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is one of the UK’s fastest growing nature conservation organisations and seeks to appoint a Nature Conservation Intern.

The role

Are you passionate about wildlife and looking to start a career in nature conservation? We’re looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking intern to join our team and gain real, practical experience across a wide range of conservation work. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop new skills, work alongside experienced staff and make a genuine difference for nature.

You’ll spend time outdoors in all weathers, helping with practical habitat management and conservation tasks, as well as supporting office-based project work. No two days are the same — one day you could be coppicing woodland or surveying wildlife, the next helping with data entry, communications or project administration.

About you

We’re looking for someone who has a genuine interest in nature conservation and the environment, who enjoys practical outdoor work and isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty. You will be willing to learn new skills and take on a variety of tasks, bringing enthusiasm, reliability and motivation to everything you do. You will enjoy working with others as part of a team, while also being capable of working independently when required. A positive attitude, personable nature and strong communication skills are essential for this role.

In return, you’ll gain valuable experience, training and insight into the conservation sector while working with a supportive and friendly team. If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and help protect nature, we’d love to hear from you.
