We have exciting opportunities for Graduate Geotechnical Engineers to join the UK’s largest and most diverse geotechnical and ground engineering contractor.

What you’ll be doing

  • Undertake geotechnical analytical work, from planning, execution and reporting of Geo-Environmental and Geotechnical site investigations
  • Assist with various field activities including assessment and analysis of geotechnical conditions and investigations
  • Involvement in laboratory testing programmes for soil and rock samples
  • Prepare and assist with reviewing, analysing and interpreting geotechnical data
  • Assist with report writing and technical notes
  • Undertake Research & Development projects including developing innovative engineering tools and solutions
  • Implement operational quality control measures and quality assurance processes
  • Take a proactive approach in the responsibility for Health and Safety
  • Attend regular meetings with internal and external parties
  • Undertake contaminated land assessment and site remediation using appropriate technical skills
  • Conduct soil and groundwater risk assessments, liaising with clients and regulators
  • Working collaboratively with engineers and other technicians to deliver quality evidence led reports
  • Conduct self in a way that reflects and promotes the Van Elle company values.

Who we’re looking for

  • A minimum 2:2 BSc (Hons) in Geology, Civil Engineering or related subject
  • Previous practical construction experience (desirable)
  • Experience with AutoCAD preferable
  • IT competent in Microsoft packages
  • Valid CSCS would be beneficial.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work effectively to deadlines and under pressure.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy of work
  • Effective planning and organisation skills
  • A structured approach to problem solving.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the relevant legal and safety regulations

Other requirements

  • Eligible to work and live in the UK.
  • Flexibility to travel in the UK.
  • A full driving licence, that is valid in the UK (essential)

  • Hours of work are 7.30am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday however flexibility is required
