Anika's success story: Securing work experience at Morgan Stanley
Anika is an Accounting and Finance student from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She secured work experience at Morgan Stanley in London, through Bright Network.
First, please tell us a little bit about yourself.
“My interest in financial services is a natural extension of my strengths in numbers and logical reasoning. It combines my desire to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with the opportunity to make impactful financial decisions.
I have always been interested in the world of finance and attracted to the opportunity to combine my love for numbers with my curiosity about how markets operate and the role they play in shaping our global economy.
I decided to attend university, and LSE stood out to me for its prestigious reputation in the fields of Accounting and Finance and its vibrant intellectual community. I knew that studying at LSE would not only allow me to gain in-depth knowledge of the theoretical aspects of finance but also help me develop practical skills through exposure to real-world financial challenges and interactions with industry experts.
I am excited by the prospect of working in an environment that is both intellectually challenging and constantly evolving and am motivated by the potential to contribute to responsible financial practices that promote stability and sustainability in the global market.”
What motivated you to apply for your role?
“I applied to the Virtual Series Insight at Morgan Stanley because I wanted to gain a deeper understanding of the financial services industry from one of the leading global investment banks.
Morgan Stanley's reputation for excellence and innovation in finance is well known, and I saw this programme as a unique opportunity to learn directly from industry professionals.
The virtual format allows me to engage with the content and network with peers and mentors while balancing my academic commitments. I’m particularly interested in gaining insights into different divisions within the firm, such as investment banking, sales and trading and asset management, so this experience will help me refine my career goals within the financial services sector.”
