Victoria is a Architecture graduate from the University of Navarra in Spain. She secured a Graduate Architect role at Multiplex through Bright Network. 
First, we’d love for you to tell us a little bit about yourself.
“I’ve wanted to be an architect since I was 16, which is why I went to university to start the whole process and to work towards gaining chartership.
My degree has taught me that there are many fields where architects can provide insight and value, one being in the construction industry.”
What motivated you to apply for your role?
“In the future I’d love to become an expert on creating sustainable built environments, which is why I was interested in the graduate role at Multiplex.
Being able to work for a company that values innovative construction systems and the offered rotation scheme will allow me to gain a comprehensive overview of different sustainability practices will be incredibly insightful.”
What was your application journey like?
“The process was quite extensive, but Multiplex made me feel very reassured at each step of the process. Them being so accommodating to my circumstances helped a lot and made me feel less nervous about the process.”
What are you most proud of about your journey?
“I’m proud of making it through every step of the process successfully.”
“Applying to graduate roles requires patience and perseverance.”
“One thing I found challenging about applying to graduate roles is waiting for months before receiving updates. Multiplex was great because they were very communicative and reassuring at each step of the process.”
What have you learnt from going through the process?
“That all you can do is your best and if one thing doesn’t work out that another will. It’s all part of the process!”
What are your tips for people looking to follow in your footsteps?
“The best thing you can do is to be strategic and not just apply to opportunities you’re really passionate about, but also apply to role you think you’d be a good fit for.
It’s easy to panic at the beginning of the application process and apply to any graduate role available however I think it can be more productive to choose a range of roles that align with your background and work on creating exceptional applications for each of these. Less is sometimes more!”
Tell us about the future. What’s next?
“I’m looking forward to starting my role in September, learning more about the company and getting to know my fellow co-workers.
I’m also really excited to learn more about how a projects comes together through the various departments in the rotation scheme.”
