Global charities

Disasters Emergency Committee

Our chosen international emergency partner for employee donations is the Disaster Emergency Committee. We will respond by offering an immediate one-off payroll giving facility through which employees can make a tax-efficient donation to the disaster appeal.

National charities

Mind

Our corporate charity in the UK is the mental health charity Mind and their sister charity in Scotland, SAMH. Our employees run, walk, cycle, bake and do a variety of activities to help raise valuable funds for our charity partner – and then Allianz matches the donation.

Over the last three years, we have raised over £1m to support Mind’s work across the UK to develop greater mental health support services to help children and young people to build resilience.

It is a little-known fact that 3 children in every classroom in the UK have a mental health problem such as depression, eating disorders and anxiety and over half of adult mental health issues have started by age 14, with 75% by age 18. Our partnership aims to address these problems early and build awareness and support of young people from today.

British Paralympic Association

Allianz has a long term commitment to the global Paralympic movement and we are also proud to support the British Paralympic Association (BPA). As well as managing ParalympicsGB, the BPA’s charitable activity champions grass roots para sport for children, young people and adults with disabilities.

Petplan Charitable Trust

The Petplan Charitable Trust (Registered Charity No.1032907) is funded by donations from Petplan’s customers. The Trust aims to promote the health and welfare of the nation’s animals, and awards funding to a host of well-deserved causes both in the UK and abroad. This includes everything from research into new life-saving treatments for animals, to donations for animal rehoming charities which help them to continue giving pets a new start in life.

Local Volunteering

We encourage all our employees to contribute their time, skills and passion to their local communities. We believe volunteering is a great way for employees to develop communication and leadership skills as well as building relationships within teams.

Our employees take pride in supporting their local communities and they tell us that it’s one of the things that make Allianz a great place to work.

All of our employees are entitled to 20 hours paid leave per year to volunteer in their local community every year.
