Scaling up solar power to meet climate goals - Benban Solar Park, Egypt
Benban Solar Park is one of the largest solar parks in the world and the largest in Africa, with installation capacity of 1.6 gigawatts. It’s even visible from space.
We invested in 9 of its 41 solar-power plants, to help meet Egypt’s growing energy demand with clean, cost-effective power from an abundant and renewable resource.
Every year the solar plant powers tens of thousands of homes and businesses. It’s helping lower Egypt’s electricity generation costs and reduce dependence on fossil fuels.

Closing the digital divide in Nepal - WorldLink
In Nepal, affordable broadband has only reached 25% of households and it’s even harder to connect people outside the capital, Kathmandu. WorldLink is a local internet service provider trying to change this. With our investment, it reaches customers in some of the least-connected parts of Nepal.
So far the company has connected more than 750,000 homes & businesses – including in remote communities. It is working to reach 1.3 million customers by the end of 2025, with 70% based outside Kathmandu.

Creating jobs for low-income workers Valency, Nigeria
In Nigeria, agriculture accounts for 25% of GDP, and employs over a third of the population. However, even though most Nigerian people work, they remain poor. Those with waged jobs are less likely to be poor, but they comprise just 15% of the workforce.
Our investment in Valency will expand its processing and warehouse infrastructure, improving market access for farmers to increase their incomes. This is expected to benefit 60,000 farmers and create up to 2,800 jobs in low-income communities.
