R&D 1 Year Industrial Placement (July 2023)

We are now recruiting for our R&D Industrial Placement programme, giving you the chance to work on ‘real life’ projects for our Packaging Coatings business while being mentored by experienced R&D professionals.
Key Duties
- Apply academic theory in a corporate environment
- Synthesize & evaluate polymeric resins and formulations for coatings.
- Develop good working relationship with other chemists both within own department & other departments.
- Record experimental information & data in laboratory notebooks to a high standard.
- Present/report of results & progress as appropriate.
- Operate safely in line with department and site health and safety policies and procedures
About You
- Expecting a minimum 2:1 degree or equivalent* on a course that offers you the option of taking a Year in Industry.
- Degree subject area should be Chemistry or similar with a strong background in synthesis
- Ability to interrogate & interpret experimental data
- Good at following procedures & working safely
- Proficient in MS Office & has an eye for detail
- Knowledge of COSHH
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
- Enjoys a collaborative working environment where supporting colleagues is key
