As a graduate systems engineer you will work in a holistic, multi-disciplinary role, focusing on the bigger picture and bridging the gaps between disciplines. Throughout the different stages of a product lifecycle, you could find yourself supporting activities in design and development using modelling and simulation techniques, the development and management of technical information about how our systems and products operate, seeing our products in action as they are integrated and tested in labs, or on a platform itself as it is tested in our various business units

We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, however for this role you will be expected to attend your site 3-5 days per week.

What you’ll be doing
Graduate Submarines Systems Engineer
- Using a Systems Thinking approach to support technical challenges, utilising tools such as Model based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Listening to customer needs, building a bespoke system for engineers to translate to the mechanical, hardware, and software teams.
- Supporting the development of strategies, ensuring that systems are designed and integrated to fully satisfy the requirements.
- Supporting the design and optimisation of system architectures and solutions using system modelling techniques, defining the verification and validation approach to achieve certification and acceptance of the system.
- Drafting technical reports or other documents relevant to a particular task to ensure that information can be successfully communicated with recipients.
Graduate Air Systems Engineer
Within Systems Engineering we have opportunities in Flight and Mission Systems disciplines. As well as the technical aspects, you will also learn the important factors such as schedules, costs, training, through life support whilst considering safety and environmental concerns.
- Supporting the development of our current and future Products to ensure that systems are designed and integrated.
- Capturing and analysing requirements to understand the business and to deliver the product.
- Supporting the design and optimisation of system architectures and solutions using system modelling techniques
- Defining the verification and validation approach to achieve certification and acceptance with customers.
- Roles may include UK/international business travel.
Graduate Maritime Services Systems Engineer
- Learning and applying Systems Engineering principles to support the design of systems throughout the engineering lifecycle.
- Discerning and decomposing requirements to system and sub-system level, learning requirements management techniques.
- Undertaking system design, using Model Based Systems Engineering techniques, to subsystem level using toolsets such as CATIA Magic or Enterprise Architect.
- Undertaking modelling and simulation of system elements using toolsets such as MATLAB/Simulink/Python.
- Assisting with definition and execution of system integration and testing.
- Supporting senior engineers in the definition of Verification and Validation acceptance strategies.
- Assisting with technical reviews of engineering technical documentation and design.
