    About Manufacturing

    Our goal in Manufacturing is to deliver an extraordinary journey for our customers, inspiring them with a magical fusion of craftsmanship, innovation and sustainability.     There are three industrial placements available

    1) Factory problem solving

    Factory Problem Solving spans much of a vehicle’s product cycle; influencing early product design, through to building pre-series vehicles and on to problem solving until end of production. You will gain experience of Production, Manufacturing and Quality departments inside the world’s best car manufacturing factory. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Testing future concepts and designs on pre series vehicles
    • Support future projects using digital data to promote Design for Manufacturing
    • Shadow engineers to perform root cause analysis on the actual vehicle and develop technical solutions

    2) Body problem solving

    Body Problem Solving supports launches of new models to ensure that Bentley can deliver best-in-class models repeatedly in a smooth and controlled manor. Whilst working alongside industry leaders of problem solving you will develop an invaluable network not only within Bentley motors, but with our VW group partners. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Work collaboratively with the team to deliver new models
    • To engage and deliver a project, assisting with the targets of the Body Problem Solving department in the Launch Quality Centre
    • Developing knowledge and understanding of the Manufacturing Industry

    3) New model feasibility

    The New Model Feasibility team work within the Manufacturing function. This team is responsible for influencing future products during the project to ensure that the design is feasible to build and supports manufacturing targets, delivering a successful launch into production. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Working pro-actively to support manufacturing recommendations and requirements for future projects.
    • Supporting the technical analysis of design data to identify potential risks/concerns and drive appropriate actions to resolve
    • Supporting key manufacturing processes e.g. facilitate cross functional business reviews and develop the lessons learnt process

    About you

    The successful candidate will be on track to achieve a 2:1 in the following degrees: Engineering, Mathematics, Business, Physics, Manufacturing and Economics. It would be advantageous to have automotive or manufacturing experience and knowledge of Microsoft Packages. The successful candidate will:
