Overview

Trading & shipping is bp's face to the traded markets in oil, gas, power, emissions, chemicals and finance. Its role is to enhance performance and maximise group value for our assets through distinctive supply, commodity trading, risk management and information technology, underpinned by a world-class finance, control and compliance infrastructure.

Our trading environment is different because it’s not part of a large financial institution. Yet it’s one of the largest in the world and has hubs in London, Chicago, Houston and Singapore.

Roles & Responsibilities

The trading & shipping discovery week is designed to give you an idea of the breadth of opportunity in trading & shipping, providing valuable insight into the energy industry and how trading & shipping enhances bp group value through supply, trading, risk management, marketing and analytics.

This immersive week will begin with an induction day and is followed by three days of rotation, you will meet various members of our business and take part in workshops and development sessions. You will also shadow at least two of our current graduates on different schemes who are completing different rotations. All of this will give you great exposure to trading & shipping as a whole. On the final day, you’ll be invited to take part in a scenario-based technical interview for our trading & shipping internship programme.


The programme is open to students due to graduate in 2023 and acts as a fast track to a 2022 summer internship.
