Dains are hiring for a Tax Assistant to join our Birmingham office where you will have the opportunity to grow your career in tax alongside become a qualified ACA/CTA chartered accountant.
This exciting opportunity offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across multiple tax disciplines, helping you build a well-rounded foundation for a successful career in tax advisory.
Our tax teams
You’ll gain exposure through a structured rotational programme, where you’ll spend time within our Personal Tax, Employment Tax, VAT and Corporate Tax teams. You’ll be working alongside experienced professionals and developing the technical expertise, commercial awareness and client relationship skills needed for a successful career in tax.
You’ll work with businesses and individuals to ensure they meet their tax obligations while identifying opportunities for tax efficiency and planning. Our tax experts are detail orientated individuals who provide tailored advice to clients. You will help to support the preparation of tax returns, advising on compliance and supporting with complex transactions. You’ll gain exposure to individual and business taxation, corporate tax matters as well as employee benefits and reward structures, all whilst becoming a chartered tax advisor.
You’ll be fully supported as you study for your ACA/CTA qualification, gaining valuable experience across different areas of tax along the way. After qualifying, you’ll have the opportunity to specialise in the field that excites you most and continue developing your career as a trusted tax professional.

Entry requirements
- Minimum Grade 6 in Maths and English at GCSE level or equivalent.
- A minimum of 112 UCAS points or equivalent (Excluding General Studies).
- Eligibility to work in the UK without sponsorship.
