Shape sustainable communities. Build a career with purpose.

Want to make a real difference for people and the environment? Join the Environment Agency and help tackle some of the UK’s most complex environmental and industrial challenges.

Our 12-month Industry Placements, starting September 2026, offer hands-on experience, meaningful responsibility, and exposure to real regulatory decision-making. This is more than a placement - it’s an opportunity to learn how environmental regulation works in practice, build valuable skills, and shape your future career.

Regulate industry and protect the environment

  • Time to recharge – 25 days’ annual leave (or equivalent for your work pattern) plus bank holidays
  • Flexibility that works for you – Hybrid, part-time where possible
  • Support from day one – Office buddies, mentors and peer networks to help you settle in and thrive
  • Your development, your way – A personalised training plan and encouragement to explore new challenges
