The role
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and data-driven E-commerce Merchandising Assistant Intern to support the merchandising team in maintaining and enhancing the performance of our ecommerce platform. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the site experience is optimally merchandised, accurate, and engaging for our customers. You will collaborate closely with the Merchandising, Tech, and UX/UI teams to manage product data, site visuals, and frontend changes.
Key responsibilities
Site merchandising
Regularly audit the website to ensure product images, content, and PLPs are accurate and up to date, confirming site functionality and correct linking of web toggles to maintain a smooth customer ordering experience
Identify and report any website or content inaccuracies, raising and tracking tickets with relevant technical teams to ensure timely resolution, minimise customer friction, and reduce potential sales loss.
Product onboarding
- Manage the process of onboarding new products, ensuring all relevant information and assets are captured, checked, and uploaded accurately.
- Closely working with stakeholders to ensure a smooth and speedy onboarding in time with product launch deadlines
Visual merchandising
- Support the visual representation of product listings, including control of sorting orders and "visual shelf" logic.
- Make informed recommendations for visual merchandising improvements
Competitor shopping
Regularly review competitor websites, Price comparison sites and customer experiences, identifying relevant insights and proposing ideas to enhance our offering, including promotions, giveaways, visuals, and pricing strategies
Creating reports
- Create and prepare slides and charts for Monthly Business reviews ready for the Merchandising Manager
- Create and prepare adhoc excel reports ready for analysis
- Create standardised data reports ready for export feeds
Skills and qualifications
- Strong analytical mindset.
- Excellent attention to detail; able to identify small errors and inconsistencies.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for cross-functional collaboration.
- Proficient in preparing and organising data for analysis, including spreadsheets and product feeds.
- Basic understanding of online retail and product lifecycle.
