Programme overview

On the 12-month Audit Industrial Placement programme, you’ll shape the future with confidence by helping protect the reputation of businesses and supporting trust in markets. You’ll work in high-performing teams, using technology and data to focus on analysis, professional judgement and powerful insights. As a Shaper of the future, you’ll build your potential while making a real impact for clients and society.

What you will be doing

  • Work on client engagements that help build trust and confidence in financial reporting.
  • Carry out independent assessments of financial information to support true and fair reporting.
  • Use technology, data and professional judgement to interpret evidence, assess risk in financial statements and deliver meaningful insights.
  • Collaborate with teams and clients across different sectors and locations.
  • Develop your skills through hands‑on experience, coaching and formal learning.

Please note: If you are successful in securing an offer you will be required to remain in Northern Ireland for the entire duration of the programme. The offer cannot be transferred to any other EY location in the UK or Ireland.

Eligibility for applying

You’ll need a minimum of Level 4/C GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths; and three A-levels/5 Highers (or equivalent). You’ll also be studying for an Honours Degree (in any subject) that includes a one year placement and you’re in your penultimate year of university.

While we welcome applications from candidates of all academic backgrounds, we are looking to recruit individuals who will succeed at EY in the role and future qualifications. We have completed several studies on academic attainment at A-level (or equivalents), candidate performance in the online assessments in the EY recruitment process, and how that predicts future performance at EY. 

Throughout the recruitment process, we therefore assess your suitability for the EY role you have applied to by considering your scores in the online assessments and your academic attainment at A-level or equivalent. This approach is designed to ensure our joiners are successful in role and, where relevant, in the achievement of their professional qualifications. It is important to EY, and we have a duty of care which we take very seriously, to ensure our joiners are set up for long-term success.
