Shape business growth through strategic insight.

Programme overview

On the Strategy Summer Internship, you’ll shape the future with confidence by helping leading corporate and private equity clients solve complex strategic challenges and identify growth opportunities. You’ll work in high-performing teams on live client engagements, gaining hands-on experience from day one and contributing to high-profile strategy and due diligence projects. As a Shaper of the future, you’ll build your consulting skills, expand your network, and make a meaningful impact while exploring a career in strategy consulting.

Core skills for success

  • Problem solving — Use structured thinking and analytical frameworks to break down complex business challenges into clear, actionable insights.
  • Analytical thinking — use a range of analytical tools including hypothesis trees, modelling of large data sets, insights from primary research, technology, and professional judgement to deliver insights others can rely on.
  • Confidence in ambiguity — be comfortable making sound decisions with limited information and learning fast.
  • Inclusive collaboration — thrive in inclusive teams where every voice and perspective strengthens outcomes.
  • Digital fluency — use tools and automation to work smarter and focus on higher‑value work.

What you will be doing

  • Identify data sources, gather, analyse, and interpret data, and present your findings to team members or clients.
  • Interview market experts, customers, and competitors of the client and synthesize findings to make strategic recommendations.
  • Build market and business models to generate forecasts and support with analysis.
  • Gain exposure to senior clients and stakeholders, strengthen your communication skills, and enjoy a collaborative team culture.

Please note: Due to UK policies, you must be based in the UK for the entire duration of the programme.

Eligibility for applying

If you’re in your penultimate year, or if you’re already in your final year but will be doing a one-year Master’s degree in any subject, or taking a gap year, this internship is for you.

You will need to be working towards an honours degree in any subject, have a minimum of grade 4/C GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths, or in your home language if you do not hold English Language GCSE, and three A-levels/Five Highers (or equivalent) to be eligible to apply.

While we welcome applications from candidates of all academic backgrounds, we are looking to recruit individuals who will succeed at EY-P in the desired role and future qualifications, therefore throughout our recruitment process your academic performance will be considered against your online assessment scores to determine your suitability for an EY-P role. We have completed several studies on academic attainment at A level (or equivalents), candidate performance in the online assessments in the EY recruitment process, and how that predicts future performance at EY.

We are also proud to partner with RARE recruitment so that your application can be processed in the context of your socio-economic background. This allows us to give you the maximum credit for your achievements, assessing whether you have overachieved in light of your personal circumstances.
