About the role
Come and work for a rewarding organisation, joining our friendly, and supportive Planning Development Team to manage a diverse range of planning applications. Gloucester is a historic and regenerating city ensuring an interesting and varied caseload. You will also provide planning advice to the general public, developers, applicants and other council services. Training and support will be given.
This role is perfect for a graduate, or someone taking their first steps into their planning career. You will gain the invaluable experience of working in an historic city environment. This role is open to job share.

- Demonstrate strong organisational and communication skills.
- Attention to detail to process applications accurately and effectively.
- Be committed to upholding the planning system and be enthusiastic about good design and place making.
- Want to get the best outcomes from cases to ensure Gloucester can develop in a sustainable way that makes our resident’s lives better.
- Work effectively with internal and external consultees and present complex information in an accessible way, with great report writing skills.
- Be proficient in the use of technology and have a good overview of the planning system.

Additional information
The council is not currently able to offer sponsorship in this role. Candidates will need to have right to work that enables them to commit to at least 6 months employment. Right to work is not transferable from a sponsored role held with another employer.
