What you’ll need

  • Potential interns must be in their 2nd year of a four-year degree which requires (or has an option for) 3rd year to be a one year's industrial placement, and are expected to achieve a minimum of a 2:1 grade
  • You must be eligible to work in the UK and be available to commence the placement at the beginning of July 2026 for 13 months.
  • You'll have self-motivation to work independently, be confident in your resourcefulness, but aware when you need to ask for help and guidance
  • You will have good time management and organizational skills while being structured in your approach
  • You'll be adaptable in handling new and evolving requirements, and comfortable working under tight timescales
  • Show Creativity in approaching projects and bold in asking questions
  • Exceptional written, visual and oral communication skills and comfortable talking to people of all seniority levels
  • Team oriented and collaborative mindset.
  • Fluent in English

What you'll do

  • Support to HPE Networking Business development team: The Business development intern supports a team of experts focused on different Customer or Technology segments that we HPE operates in. This support may include multiple different day-to-day activities from creating communications, reporting and analysing data, arranging events to preparing pricing. The role is flexible and will change during the year as the business evolves.
  • Reporting: You will be the central point of contact for all reporting and analysis of business data for the team. You will build capability to provide insights and recommendations to the team. Be the team expert on XLS and Power BI.
  • Create and execute Power Bi reports used to track business orders and sellout.
  • Market share and sellout analysis: Utilise Context sellout data and portal to analyse the UKI market and ad hoc requests from BDM’s & channel sales team.
  • Distributor Data: Provide data for distributors by creating and presenting monthly business analysis per partner. You will share at monthly distribution meetings with the distribution manager. Respond to ad-hoc distributor requests including share, sellout, top selling products, inventory.
  • Masterfile Communicate : Refresh and update Business data Masterfile.
  • SMB inventory planner for distribution: Support Transactional product stock planning for driving target weeks of inventory
  • Rebate vs Upfront reporting by Distribution: Orders placed upfront /rebates
  • Communications: Manage process for multiple communications to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Pricing: The BDM intern is responsible for high touch pricing requests; this requires access to the pricing systems to support the business.

Other activities

  • Volunteering / Charity Executive Sponsorship Program: Collaborate with other interns to organise quarterly charity initiatives and events. Opportunity to get involved in volunteering activities
  • Support Other Interns: Teamwork with other HPE Networking interns to ensure cross-role systems support for holiday/sickness backup.
  • Admin: Some administration is required for Internal orders on behalf of HPE Networking employees. Organise the delivery and collection of equipment through collaboration with Goods In.
