Role overview and the purpose of the role
Support the delivery of MEP systems on major construction projects. Assist with design reviews, BIM and digital engineering, project coordination, quality assurance, commissioning, and health and safety activities. The role combines practical project experience with academic study, developing technical knowledge across building services engineering, construction technology, sustainability, quality, and project delivery.
Key responsibilities – What you’ll do
- Support the coordination and delivery of mechanical, electrical, and public health engineering systems on construction projects.
- Assist with reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, models, and technical documentation.
- Develop and utilise digital engineering tools and Building Information Modelling (BIM) technologies.
- Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and project planning activities.
- Support quality assurance, inspection, testing, and commissioning activities to ensure systems meet required standards.
- Assist with health, safety, environmental, and sustainability initiatives, ensuring compliance with company and industry requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, project managers, specialist contractors, and clients to support project delivery.
- Maintain accurate project records, reports, and technical documentation.
- Complete academic coursework, workplace training, and professional development activities as part of the apprenticeship programme.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning, professional conduct, and personal development.

Our projects are based across the UK (National) so you’ll need to be prepared to be flexible about where you work. Depending on project requirements, this may involve travelling, staying away from home during the week, or relocating closer to a project site.
