Our Summer Intern Programme
Join Mercer’s Global Investments for an eight-week paid summer internship tailored for penultimate-year students eager to accelerate their careers. This unique opportunity offers hands-on experience working on real client projects across both traditional and alternative asset classes.

Mercer’s Investments business provides bespoke investment tools, advice, and delegated solutions to pension scheme trustees and other asset owners, including endowments, foundations, and insurers. As an intern, you will assist in developing and delivering these solutions, sharpening your technical, numerical, project management, and communication skills through collaboration with multiple teams.
Success in this internship can fast-track your entry into Mercer’s rotational Investment Platform Graduate Programme. Additionally, we will work closely with you to identify further career opportunities within Mercer that align with your talents and ambitions.

What you need to have
- Be a penultimate year student on track to achieve a minimum of a 2:1 degree.
- Permanent Right to Work in the UK (we are unable to provide Visa sponsorship for this role).
- Market Knowledge: A keen interest in financial markets, asset classes, and economic principles, along with a commitment to staying informed about market trends.
- Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to creatively and efficiently identify and address challenges.
- Attention to Detail: A strong focus on accuracy and thoroughness, particularly when analysing data and reports.
- Communication Skills: The capability to clearly convey ideas and concepts, both in writing and verbally, to team members.
- Team Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills that enable effective teamwork and engagement with other departments.
- Quantitative and Technical Skills: Proficiency in mathematics and statistics, as well as strong skills in Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL, and financial software like Bloomberg is a plus.
