Our 11-month Project Management Year In Industry Placement gives you the opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting projects across the rail industry. You'll work with colleagues, suppliers and stakeholders, helping to turn plans into action while developing valuable skills, industry knowledge and professional experience.

What you’ll be doing
Take the opportunity to develop project management skills while gaining experience across a range of infrastructure and business change projects. You'll also gain insight into the challenges and opportunities of delivering work in a live operational environment.
You'll contribute to meaningful projects while building the knowledge and experience needed for a career in project management. You'll have the opportunity to:
· Support project teams to coordinate activities and keep work moving forward
· Build relationships with stakeholders and helping to align different priorities and objectives
· Use data to monitor progress, identify issues and support decision-making
You'll gain experience working with people across the business and wider rail industry, developing an understanding of how projects and change initiatives are delivered in complex environments.
Who you are matters
You'll need to be in your penultimate year at university and be on track to achieve a minimum of a 2:2 degree in any subject and the flexibility to travel within your region for training and work activities, including occasional overnight stays.
How you bring people together, approach challenges and contribute to a team is important to us. You may already have developed these strengths through a part-time job, volunteering, university activities, team sport or other experiences.

You’ll be supported throughout your placement, with plenty of opportunities to learn from others, build your confidence and make a valuable contribution to your team.
