Build a career managing one of Britain's most diverse property portfolios.

Our 3-year Property Management Graduate Scheme gives you the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a range of property disciplines while working towards full membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Through structured placements, practical experience and professional development opportunities, you'll develop the knowledge, skills and experience needed to build a successful career as a chartered surveyor.

If shaping the future of property matters to you. You matter to us.

What you’ll be doing

Take the opportunity to gain experience across a range of property disciplines while developing your professional knowledge and understanding of Network Rail's extensive property portfolio.

You'll contribute to meaningful projects while building the skills, knowledge and experience needed for a successful career in property management. During your placements, you could be:

• Supporting development projects through feasibility studies, stakeholder engagement and land disposals

• Negotiating rent reviews, lease renewals and supporting property management activity across our station and commercial estate portfolios

• Gaining experience across property services, planning and valuation through internal placements and an external valuation placement

After getting up to speed on the basics of Network Rail, you'll complete a series of six-month placements across both Central and Regional teams, giving you broad exposure to the many areas of property within the business.

Who you are matters

You'll need a minimum of a 2:2 in a Commercial Real Estate or Planning & Development degree accredited for the commercial property route of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

We look for independent thinkers who have a passion for property and can communicate effectively with people at all levels, both inside and outside the business. Other qualities we're looking for include:

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

• A logical and analytical approach to problem-solving

• Good report writing skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

• Knowledge of the property industry and a passion for professional development

What you’ll get out of it

Over 3 years, you'll work towards becoming a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS). We'll provide full funding and support as you progress along the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) pathway towards chartered status.

Following the scheme, you'll have the opportunity to move into the area of property that interests you most. Whether your ambition is to become a Development Surveyor, Portfolio Manager or another property specialist, you'll continue to receive support and opportunities to develop your career, with many graduates progressing into senior roles within Network Rail's Property function.
