Interested in clinical research, contributing to the healthcare of the future and working with patients in the NHS? We have placements available at the Northern Care Alliance NHS, for 12 months.

You will be involved in all clinical stages of the research process, from consenting patients, through to randomising them to trial or placebo groups. You will need to be interested in patient care, but also be able to support patients who may have complex health needs.

You will work towards the National Care Certificate, as evidence you can meet employer standards in the field, including safeguarding and basic life support. You will be required to communicate directly with patients, so good communication skills are essential.

    Main Duties of the Job

We are looking for a motivated and effective communicator with a ‘can do’ attitude and an eye for detail; they will need to take ownership and delivery of their work with a desire to develop their research delivery skills. You should be organised, able to prioritise and demonstrate initiative, within the ethically approved confines of the protocol and Good Clinical Practice; able to thrive on challenges and be an effective problem solver.

You will support research activity within clinical trials, supporting robust data collection and inputting alongside coordinating patient research appointments and trial related activities. There will be an expectation that the post holder would undertake training in the processing of research samples, however, training would be provided for this.
