The role

The QinetiQ Hebrides Range Engineering Communications Group is made up of multidisciplinary teams who deliver high quality & expert service to a wide range of military & government customers, conducting testing, trials, training and evaluation on the largest Air and Sea Range in Western Europe.

The Networks & Communications team is recruiting a motivated and tech savvy individual to take up a full time role as part of the team based in the Outer Hebrides and supporting the wider group throughout the UK.

This role has multiple potential entry points depending on the qualifications and skills of the successful candidate. An adaptive and focused training and development framework is available to take into account an individual’s point in their career.

Day-to-day, you’ll

  • Be able to work in a hands on role with the opportunity to work across with a wide variety of IT and communications systems and supporting infrastructure.
  • Be working on Trials Control and Surveillance Management systems, network management and change control processes as well has having the opportunity to contribute towards systems engineering processes and projects.

What you'll need

Essential experience of the Junior Network and Communications Engineer:

  • You should have a strong interest and/or experience within Networks &/or Wireless communications.
  • A passion for computing and working on networked based systems is recommended.

Qualifications for the Junior Network and Communications Engineer:

  • You should have at least a 2:1 degree within an IT / Cyber or Networks focused discipline or be able to demonstrate suitable experience and skills within this field.

Please note that all applicants must be eligible for SC clearance, as a minimum.
