All Graduate Officers will be supported to complete either a Level 4 Project Management qualification or job-related technical training (all fully funded) as part of the programme.
About the Strategic Projects Unit
The Strategic Projects Unit delivers an effective, responsive, and high‑quality service across the Highways, Transportation and Strategic Projects division. The team manages a diverse portfolio ranging from small, local schemes to complex multi‑million‑pound developments, reflecting the constantly evolving demands of civil engineering.
Who we’re looking for
As a Graduate Officer, you will work within the Strategic Projects team under the guidance of the Capital Delivery Manager. You will be involved in all aspects of project management, supporting an exciting variety of civil engineering and infrastructure projects. We are looking for someone who is highly organised, able to work independently, and genuinely passionate about pursuing a career in the engineering and project delivery field.
Essential criteria
Applicants must hold a minimum 2:2 degree with honours in BSc or BEng in Civil Engineering, or an alternative acceptable discipline, including but not limited to:
- BSc in Project Management
- BEng in Structural Engineering
- BSc/BEng in Construction Management / Construction Engineering
- BSc in Project Management (Construction or Built Environment)
- BSc in Quantity Surveying (if project/contract-focused)

Each competency response must be limited to a maximum of 200 words and only your first 200 words for each response will be considered. Any response exceeding this limit may result in the application not being reviewed or shortlisted.
