What is the Opportunity?

The GRM Market Risk group provides independent and effective monitoring, control, and communications on the nature and extent of all material market risk and ensures the implementation and compliance with risk management policies and procedures.

This role will have dual responsibilities of assisting the FX and TMS Market Risk Management team in assisting daily risk reporting, monitoring and controlling of the Global FX and TMS businesses, carrying out adhoc analyses for senior risk management and on new trade deals, and interact with GRM Europe and APAC businesses and functions on FX and TMS related projects and issue.

What will you do?

  • Work with trading management to ensure all risks are accurately captured, represented, and checked against trading limits

  • Deliver Market Risk Reports of the businesses responsible with complete understanding of the content

  • Monitor and report adherence to market risk limits, standing orders, and product mandates

  • Limit excesses to be appropriately escalated to trading and GRM management

  • Ensure all trading portfolios are accurately captured in the trade booking system, market and trading credit risk reports and in the firm's Enterprise Risk platforms and risk is accurately reported

  • Track news and market reactions, evaluating P&L impact and alerting management to trends and Front Office actions to mitigate the risk

  • Work with the team lead in the implementation and testing of strategic risk reporting and risk consolidation initiatives and delivering the results in a time bound manner

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Quantitative and/or Economics degree - this role is all about understanding aggregation of market risks in turbulent financial markets and their impacts to the business

  • Highly self motivated

  • Pragmatic and delivery oriented attitude

  • Good team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Requires quick, accurate and crisp communication with the business and senior risk management to facilitate informed and quick decision making

  • Ability to work under pressure against tight deadlines

Nice to have:

  • MBA, MA or MS or equivalent with emphasis in finance, economics or a quantitative discipline
