We have a great opportunity for 35 students who are interested in a career in investment banking to attend a 5-day insight week at the SCIB office in central London. Successful applicants will have the chance to gain valuable insights into the our inclusive and supportive culture, learn about the different business areas, hear from our senior leaders, and have their application fast-tracked through to an early assessment centre for the 2027 summer internship programme.
This event has been tailored to inspire diverse top talent to feel confident and empowered starting out on a career in corporate and investment banking.

Why attend?
- Get a head-start in the 2027 summer application process by gaining valuable industry insights and be fast-tracked past the first application screening stage for a summer internship
- Be exposed to different areas of an investment bank and have the opportunity to shadow various desks within a division to see what goes on behind the scenes including Global Markets, Corporate Banking, Corporate Finance, Leveraged Finance, Debt Capital Markets, Structured Finance, Syndicated Loans, Loan Advisory and Global Transaction Banking
- Participate in multiple opportunities that will help practice and develop your soft skills such as networking, presenting and interviewing
- Learn about the industry through speaker sessions, panel discussions, mentoring groups and interactive activities

Schedule
This programme will take place across 5 days, from the 13th to the 17th of April 2026.
Timing
9am to 5pm each day (estimated timing).
Agenda
Each day will focus on immersing you into each one of SCIB's key business areas to help you find out if a career in Investment Banking at Santander aligns to your aspirations, values and future goals.
The programme includes networking, skills workshops, shadowing, active participation in case studies and plenty of opportunities to ask questions to gain a real picture of what it’s like to be a part of the team.
Participants will have a mentor to help them get the most out of the experience. The final day will include a session designed to support your journey to the Internship & acing the Assessment Centre.

Who can attend?
- Undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds, including those from underrepresented backgrounds and those who received free school meals, are the first generation in their family to go to university and attended a state school
- Including but not limited to those studying STEM, business, economics and social sciences
- Graduating from university in 2028
- We also accept equivalent qualifications e.g.: Level 6 degree apprenticeships, Scottish Graduate Apprenticeships.
- On track for a 2.1 or above and have demonstrated academic excellence throughout their education
- Have a real motivation for joining the investment banking industry

The event will take place across 5 days at the SCIB offices - 2 Triton Square, Regents Place, London, NW1 3AN.
For travel to the event, SCIB will support you with reasonable travel and accommodation expenses. More details will be shared if you are successful in gaining a place.
