The HR Booth are delighted to be recruiting a Graduate Sales Development Representative (SDR) on behalf of Shephard Group.

Kickstart your sales career with us

Are you a recent graduate ready to launch your career in defence market intelligence? Whether you studied business, politics, international relations, defence, security, intelligence or anything in between, this is your chance to join an innovative, fast-paced company where you’ll learn how to succeed in B2B sales from the ground up.

We don’t expect you to have sales experience — we provide full training and support to help you build the skills and confidence needed to thrive in a sales role.

About Shephard Group

Shephard Group has been serving the defence industry since 1981, providing reliable, actionable data and marketing solutions to enable confident strategic decision-making.

We are committed to delivering high-quality market intelligence and journalism, ensuring our customers have access to the most accurate, reliable data.

We are seeking a graduate sales development representative (SDR) to find and screen potential customers who would benefit from our innovative platform, Defence Insight - which delivers market intelligence and data analytics that help defence and aerospace professionals stay ahead in an evolving industry.

Why join Shephard Group?

  • Collaborative and values-driven work environment
  • Competitive salary and bonus structure
  • Professional growth opportunities within the sales and Marketing teams.
  • Opportunity to work in a growing and innovative company at the forefront of defence market intelligence

The role

As an SDR, you will be part of our collaborative sales and marketing team, identifying and engaging potential customers for Defence Insight. You’ll be trained to:

  • Research companies and decision-makers in the defence and aerospace sectors
  • Contact prospects through email, phone, and LinkedIn outreach
  • Qualify leads and book discovery meetings for the sales team
  • Use CRM systems to track activities and measure success
  • Contribute to pipeline development and support overall sales growth

Who we're looking for

This role is perfect for a recent graduate who is:

  • Keen to learn and open to feedback
  • Resilient and able to bounce back from challenges
  • Curious about the world and skilled in communication
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
  • Based in the UK with the right to work here

No sales experience? No problem. We’re looking for potential and mindset — not a track record.

What we offer

  • 25 days annual leave
  • Work from home
  • Laptop, phone and home office equipment if needed
  • Workplace pension plan
  • Private medical insurance with BUPA
  • Life cover
  • Employee assistance programme
  • Maternity and Paternity leave
  • Armed forces leave
  • Quarterly in-person company planning meetings (travel expenses covered)
