We are seeking a candidate to be part of the Sales and Trading FX Market Making team for the duration of a summer internship. FX is a key area for the bank and the successful candidate will spend their time learning about the FX business with a hands-on approach as well as getting exposure to other affiliated FX Business areas. We are looking to bring in the next generation of talent to learn and contribute ideas to enhance their development and expand our remit and a growing business.
Why this role is important to us
State Streets FX business is a global team providing trading facilities for clients 24 hours a day 5 days a week, typically transacting billions of dollars of foreign exchange currency daily. We employ quantitative and algorithmic trading techniques to transact in the market as well as leveraging our research capability to take and manage risk. By interning with the Sales and Trading FX Market Making team you will get an understanding in how the business is run while helping the team perform their individual roles
What you will be responsible for
As a placement summer intern, you will:
- Work closely with members of the FX Market Making desk, quantitative analysts, developers, and other senior staff as mentors to gain an understanding of the FX Business and aid them in their daily tasks
- Perform analysis in order to learn how to price trades
- Understand the design and deployment of trading strategies
- Explore pricing and trading ideas through optimization of analysing client data and looking for patterns.
- Understand and perform pre and post trade analysis for client and trading strategies.
- Work with the Traders to acquire an in-depth knowledge of financial markets and risk management.

Education and preferred qualifications
Currently engaged in a Mathematics/Physics/Statistics/Engineering or similar degree.
