    Stork have an exciting opportunity for a Scaffold Design Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis. We are an award winning organisation – 2023 Offshore Achievement Awards, 2022 cHeRries Exemplary Employer award and the 2021 OGUK Workforce Engagement Award.

    This role at Stork is a full time opportunity which would ideally suit recent graduates who have studied in Mechanical design or Structural Engineering to degree level. Candidates with a HNC or relevant engineering work experience will also be considered. We will support your journey by providing the necessary training to be a great Scaffold Design Engineer!

    The role

    This role focusses on providing scaffolding operational and technical support to Product Lines and Contracts across the UK region.

    Tasks and Responsibilities as Scaffold Design Engineer

    Drawings

    • Compile Drawings in compliance with TG20 (British Standards for Tube and Fitting Constructed Scaffolds) and Manufacturers Technical Specifications.
    • Drawings supported by corresponding calculations/verification
    • Compilation of Material Take-offs for each drawing as required
    • Forecast provision of estimated man hours

    Calculations / Verification

    • Calculations made in accordance with TG20 (British Standards for Tube and Fitting Constructed Scaffolds) and Manufacturers Technical Specifications.
    • Critical Load Path analysis assessed throughout drawings

    Material Take-Off

    • Materials required to construct corresponding drawings is identified as listed within provided material take-off (Conventional / System).
    • Awareness of Scaffolding components on all drawings (Conventional / System)

    Estimations

    • Accurate scaffolding man hours (erection / dismantling) corresponding to scaffolding drawing.
    • Providing total Tonnage of required material to construct design scaffold.

    Education & Experience

    Essential

    • Minimum of HNC in Mechanical Engineering or demonstrable experience of working in the Scaffolding industry.

    Desirable

    • Bachelors or Masters degree
    • Offshore certification

    Experience and Skills

    Essential

    • Understanding of Mechanical Engineering (e.g. Critical Load Path Analysis)

    Desirable

    • Mechanical Engineering background or equivalent.

    Additional Requirements

    • Offshore travel as required – periodic visits may be required during the year to carry out Audits and Surveys, we anticipate this will be a maximum of three trips per annum.
