Our Summer Internship offers a unique opportunity to spend eight weeks working alongside experienced property professionals, gaining valuable insight into how a major public sector organisation manages its property portfolio and delivers regeneration across the region.

You’ll be part of our Property & Strategic Assets Team, supporting live projects, developing professional skills, and contributing to meaningful work that makes a difference across the West Midlands.

What you’ll be doing

  • Review leases, licences and other property documents to extract and record key information.
  • Support the implementation of a new Property Asset Management System.
  • Assist surveyors with a variety of property and asset management activities.
  • Help maintain accurate property records, databases and documentation.
  • Support meetings, workshops and team activities.
  • Respond to routine enquiries from colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Develop your analytical, communication and problem-solving skills through real work experience.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation while building your professional network.

What we’re looking for

We’re interested in motivated students who are:

  • Currently studying towards a degree in Surveying or Law.
  • Curious, enthusiastic and eager to learn.
  • Organised, accurate and detail-focused.
  • Comfortable working with information and analysing data.
  • Strong communicators with good written and verbal skills.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Able to manage their time effectively and prioritise tasks.

Location

The location for this role is Summer Lane with at least 2 days a week spent in the office.

Salary and benefits

We advertise salary ranges, with new appointments typically starting at the lowest salary point. In exceptional cases, the salary point may be adjusted to secure the best candidate. This approach allows for potential year-on-year salary increases, offering progression and appropriate rewards to employees. Requests for salaries above the maximum advertised range will not be considered.
