What is the herSTEM hub?

As the UK's number one graduate careers platform, we understand how important it is to feel empowered and represented in your early career. Just 26% of STEM jobs in the UK are currently filled by women, so we're here to provide the support and resources you need to break into your dream sector as a woman in STEM.

We designed the herSTEM hub as a dedicated space to inspire and support female and non-binary students and graduates heading into STEM industries. We've brought together exclusive insights from women leading in the STEM sector, helpful advice and opportunities to help you accelerate your STEM career.

Aurelia secured an Industrial Placement at IKEA through Bright Network

Aurelia is a Computer Science student from Staffordshire University. She secured a Technical Support Specialist placement at IKEA through Bright Network. 

"At the beginning, I was afraid of putting myself forward, applying to various roles and networking with others. I've built this confidence through Bright Network events, such as Women in TEC and IEUK and I've slowly come out of my shell. I wouldn't be where I am today without Bright Network."

Rebekah secured a role in Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Organisation

Rebekah is a Biomedical Science student from Anglia Ruskin University. She secured an Opening Up internship in Supply Chain Organisation at Roche in Welwyn Garden City through Bright Network.

"I've always wanted to help people. I wrote a letter to myself when I was six saying that I’d one day help sick children, and every now and then I look at that letter to remind myself of my goal."

Megan is a Computer Science student from Cardiff University. She secured a Technology placement at Capital One in Nottingham through Bright Network. 

"I have learnt that I have a lot more skills and assets than I thought. Before the process, I was very unconfident about my skills as a computer scientist, but having to talk to so many people about my abilities made me realise I know a lot more than I thought!"
