Harry's success story: Securing a Client Services Associate role at AlphaSights

Harry is an International Business Management with French graduate from the University of Birmingham. He secured a Client Services Associate role at AlphaSights in London, through Bright Network.  

First, please tell us a little bit about yourself.  

“I’ve always played sport growing up and have always loved a team environment.  

I knew I wanted a challenging, rewarding and commercial role centred around being part of a team.  

I’m high energy and love speaking to people, so I knew I wanted an interactive and hands-on role.”  

What motivated you to apply for your role?  

“I was motivated by the fact that the role was London based, French speaking and that the company had a young workforce.  

I’d also heard positive word of mouth experiences that attracted me to the company.”  

What was the application process like?  

“The application process was relatively standard when it came to the number and length of the application stages.  

AlphaSights put a massive emphasis on being reactive and thinking on your feet during the process, which was both challenging and rewarding.”  

What have you learned from going through the process?  

“I’m better under pressure than I think I am! I learned that diligent preparation before events is what gives me confidence and helps me know I can do well.”  

What are your tips for people looking to follow in your footsteps?  

“I’d recommend using online resources and AI wisely. Don’t rely on them too heavily, but they’re fantastic for idea generation and sifting through your CV and job descriptions to draw out key skills.  

My other advice would be to be diligent and consistent in your applications – fail to prepare and prepare to fail.”  

Tell us about the future. What’s next?  

“I’m excited to stay and develop into the two-year Associate Role at AlphaSights and beyond.  

I’m hoping to learn and develop more commercial skills used in my role, but also softer skills when it comes to managing a team, managing individual people and having more responsibility when it comes to presenting to seniors.”
