Ramari's success story: Securing a graduate role at TJX Europe

Ramari is a Business Management graduate from the University of Surrey. He secured an Allocation Analyst at TJX Europe in Watford, through Bright Network.  

What motivated you to apply for your role?

“I was very motivated by the culture and the strong focus on the personal development opportunities available to me, as I knew I’d have the opportunity to grow whilst working in a supportive environment.”

What was the application process like?

“It was surprisingly more relaxed than I expected. Coming from stores, I already knew the company culture but that family yet driven environment really extended throughout the whole company.

That being said, I was most nervous about the assessment centre. The other stages were daunting but an assessment centre with other people felt out of my comfort zone.

My advice would be not to panic as everyone is very friendly, and to spend some time in store beforehand to get a feel for the company!”

What are you most proud of about your journey?

“Coming from a larger family which isn’t education oriented, I’m the only one to have attended a grammar school, graduated from university and put myself in a position to learn and gain so much from so many valuable connections.

I'm proud to be able to represent my parents and the area that I come from.”

What are your tips for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

“My advice would be to work hard, demonstrate your ability to connect with others and simply be yourself. Let your personality shine and you will probably find many people willing to spend time listening to you because of your genuine nature.”

Tell us about the future. What’s next?

“I can definitely see myself staying at the company for a long time. In the three months that I’ve been here, each day has been different and exciting. I’m eager to progress and learn each step of the way!”
