Volunteer - upskill yourself and meet new people! CMS is heavily involved in pro-bono and volunteering activities across the UK and we want to meet people who share the same values as we do.
Undertake temporary work - Many candidates ask us if it’s worth mentioning their customer service roles - the answer is: all experience matters! It’s the transferable skills and the way you apply those to commercial law that make you stand out.
Become a Brand Ambassador - It’s a great way to gain insider knowledge of the firm, meet new people and attend employer events. Our applications will open in the summer. (Keep an eye on our profile)
Attend networking events - It’s a great way to meet employers, get a feel for the firm and get noticed. Several recruitment fairs take place in the summer.
Learn a new skill and challenge yourself – Spanish for beginners? Climbing Ben Nevis? Application questions often ask you to explain when you overcame an obstacle, worked in a team and learnt a new skill. We want to meet people who strive to better themselves and can think outside the box - do something outside your comfort zone and tell us about it.
Travel - The perfect way to develop your independence and broaden your horizons. You could learn a language, or combine travel with volunteering to demonstrate your ability to take responsibility and make a difference.
