Summer internship
The Marsh Summer Internship is an eight-week programme for undergraduate students in their penultimate year, offering industry insight through structured learning, hands-on experience, and opportunities to build professional networks.
Programme details
- Eight-week programme starting in late June/early July, based in one of our offices
- Structured learning and development through online learning, business-led Lunch and Learn sessions, and masterclasses
- Support throughout the programme from business leaders, mentors, buddies, and our Early Careers team
- Hands-on experience through an Marsh-wide group project, culminating in a presentation to senior business leaders
- Networking opportunities through regular social and networking events, helping you build connections across Marsh
- Career opportunities with the potential to join our Graduate Programme the following year, depending on performance throughout the internship
Eligibility
- You are currently in your penultimate year of university and on track to achieve a 2:1 degree.
- You are interested in building a career at Marsh.
Graduate programme
The Marsh Graduate Development Programme provides graduates with an accelerated foundation for their career, combining on-the-job learning, professional skills development, and industry qualifications. You’ll receive ongoing support throughout the programme from your manager, coach, mentors, buddies, and the Early Careers team.
Programme details
- Minimum two-year programme starting in September
- Permanent, full-time graduate contract
- On-the-job learning and development, supported by formal training, professional skills development, and industry qualifications
- Study support, including dedicated study leave to prepare for exams and complete qualifications
- Support from across Marsh, including business leaders, your manager, coach, buddies, mentors, and the Early Careers team
- Networking opportunities through regular social and networking events
- Professional development to help you build the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to launch your career at Marsh
Eligibility
- You have graduated with, or are on track to achieve, a 2:1 degree within the last three years.
- You are motivated to build a career at Marsh.
Apprenticeships
The Marsh Apprenticeship Programme provides an accelerated foundation for your career with a global leader in insurance broking and risk management. You’ll gain hands- on experience through on-the-job learning, real projects, and client work, while developing your skills and working towards an industry-specific qualification.
Programme details
- Two-year programme starting in October
- Permanent, full-time apprenticeship contract
- Industry-specific qualification through a combination of coursework and exams, with 20% of your time dedicated to completing your qualification
- Hands-on experience working on real projects and gaining exposure to real clients
- Support and development from business leaders, buddies, mentors, and the Early Careers team
- Networking opportunities through regular social and networking events
Eligibility
- You have completed your A Levels or equivalent (BTEC/T Levels) within the last three years.
- You have achieved a minimum of 96 UCAS points (e.g. CCC at A Level).
- You have achieved grade 4/C or above in GCSE English and Maths.
- You are motivated to build a career at Marsh.

Insight days
Marsh Insight Days are held in April and October across a number of our offices, giving students, graduates, and early-career professionals the opportunity to learn more about Marsh, our industry, and our early careers programmes. You’ll hear from business leaders, build your network, and gain valuable insight into our application process. Those who attend an Insight Day will be invited to apply for our early careers programmes when applications open.

- Networking opportunities with colleagues across the business
- An overview of our early careers programmes and the opportunities available
- Employability skills sessions to help you prepare for your career

Work experience
The Marsh Work Experience Programme is an immersive opportunity for students to spend time in one of our offices and gain real-world insight into life at Marsh.
You’ll gain hands-on exposure to the business, learn from colleagues across the organisation and build an understanding of the skills and experience needed to start your career in our industry.
You’ll also have opportunities to connect with Marsh colleague resource groups and business leaders, while gaining insight into our early careers recruitment and assessment process.
A typical work experience week includes
- Business shadowing to gain first-hand insight into different roles and teams
- Networking opportunities with Marsh colleagues, business leaders and colleague resource groups
- Employability skills sessions to help you build confidence and prepare for the workplace
- A mock assessment centre to give you an insight into our recruitment process

Early in Career
This is a quarterly apprenticeship programme which is designed to allow candidates to join our business at various points throughout the year.
It is a challenging and rewarding programme, with a combination of on-the-job learning, working on real projects with real clients, a skills development programme, and formal qualifications.

- Permanent, full-time apprenticeship contract
- Industry-specific qualification through a combination of coursework and exams, with 20% of your time dedicated to completing your qualification
- Hands-on experience working on real projects and gaining exposure to real clients
- Support and development from business leaders, buddies, mentors, and the Early Careers team

- This programme is open to individuals from a variety of backgrounds including school leavers, graduates, and career changers/second jobbers.
- You are interested in building a career at Marsh.
