What’s involved in the graduate application process?
Online assessment
We’ll invite you to take an online assessment in early November.
These are a series of short, timed online activities in a gaming format. The game-based assessment measures a variety of cognitive abilities from numeracy to mental agility, reasoning and how you visualise and think in abstract terms.
You will be provided with full details of what to expect and instructions on how to complete the assessments.
You will have eight calendar days to complete the assessment, and you will receive a feedback report on your performance after you’ve received your results.
Video interview
If you have been successful in the online assessment, you will be invited to take part in a video interview. You can complete this at whatever time is convenient to you. It will be made up of several timed questions to which you will record your responses.
You can complete the video interview at a time that suits you best within an 8-day window. The interview consists of several timed questions, and you’ll record your responses for each one. Once you’ve completed the process and received your results, we’ll provide you with feedback on your performance.
Invite to the assessment centre
If you are successful at the video interview, we’ll invite you to book yourself onto an assessment centre. These face-to-face assessments will take place in the Heathrow offices in starting late January through to mid February.
It’s a great opportunity to visit the airport and meet us in person.
At this final assessment, you will interact with leaders from Heathrow, including former graduates, and complete a range of activities. These will typically include an interview, a group exercise and a short presentation, details of which you’ll be given on the day.
You’ll have the chance to demonstrate your potential through these tasks, which we’ll tell you about in more detail through the joining instructions.
To avoid disappointment, we highly recommend that you secure your assessment slot as soon as you get the opportunity to do so. We’ll likely be in touch in mid January to invite you to take part.
Following your assessment centre, you can expect to receive your outcome in February.
Please note: dates may be subject to change.
Assessment centre preparation - webinar
To help you prepare, we'll be running an online webinar to tell you more about our Assessment Centre. It’s a great opportunity for you to meet some of our team and to find out about life at Heathrow
This will take place in January.
Next steps
All candidates will receive feedback following the Assessment Centre and those are successful will join us in September 2026.
Adjustments
If you need to request adjustments during the graduate recruitment process, you will have the opportunity to do so when you apply, and to discuss them with our team.
