SMBC: Recruitment Process Overview

Global Graduate Programme & Summer Internship Programme

SMBC’s recruitment process is designed to be clear, supportive, and consistent across all locations. Below is a step-by-step guide to help you understand what to expect and how to prepare at each stage of the application journey.

1. Online Application & CV Submission

Submit your application through the directed online portal and upload your CV.

Tip:

Tailor your CV to highlight relevant experience, skills, and achievements that align with the role. Keep it clear, concise, and well-structured.

2. Blended Assessment & Video Interview

If shortlisted, you’ll complete a blended assessment (which may include cognitive or situational judgement tests) and a video interview.

Tip:

Practice common assessment formats in advance to get comfortable with the style. For the video interview, find a quiet space, dress professionally, and prepare answers to questions about your strengths, values, and experiences. Be authentic and confident.

3. Assessment Centre with SMBC

Successful candidates will be invited to an assessment centre at our SMBC offices, where you’ll take part in group exercises, case studies, and interviews.

Tip:

Be collaborative, communicative, and show your problem-solving skills. Prepare by researching SMBC, understanding our values, and reflecting on how your experiences align with our culture. Engage actively and respectfully with others during group tasks.
