Meet Pressy, former intern at Nuveen

By Nuveen

Meet Pressy

I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Physics from the university of Exeter. I currently have been working at Nuveen as grad in Internal Audit Services for nearly three months now and I was an intern in IAS in the summer of 2024. Even though I don’t come from a traditional background for auditing, I believe a lot of the skills I picked up during my degree came in handy.

Your internship journey

What team did you intern with, and what was your main focus during your internship?

I interned with Internal Audit Services where I started off understanding with what the audit process entailed. Then I worked under the guidance of my colleague to complete MAPs which are sort of like mini audits.

Culture & community

How did you see Nuveen living its values?

Diversity and inclusion were something I always looked for in any workplace because it meant to me that the workplace is respectful and welcoming. Nuveen has created a safe environment for me where I not only get to express myself but also broaden my knowledge about different cultures through the BRGS (Business Resource Groups).

Advice for future interns

What's the one thing you wish someone had told you before applying to Nuveen?

I was quite nervous as many are on their interview day, but I wish I had heard from someone that I should trust my preparation and not shy from being myself, because you are your selling point.
