    Who are Strategy & Deals?

    Our Strategy and Deals division operates across all Alpha clients (asset managers, wealth managers, insurers, private equity and fintech), supporting them to grow their businesses and portfolios. As an Associate, you’ll work on a range of projects to build up your skills including establishing and assessing profitability, supporting entry into new markets, and providing due diligence and other similar services to clients looking to grow via acquisition. Our Associates will work across a range of engagements providing an excellent platform to develop their skills and rapidly develop their professional career.

    What you’ll be doing

    • Starting with an expedited week-long 'Alpha Training Programme' including modules on specific tools (e.g. PowerPoint design and Excel), processes and soft skills used regularly in consulting
    • Undertaking the industry-recognised Chartered Financial Analyst Level 1 (CFA 1)
    • Working as part of a close-knit team to support clients on strategic projects immediately post-training
    • Taking ownership of specific aspects of projects and collaborating with senior stakeholders to tackle challenging problems
    • Gaining hands-on experience working with and attending meetings with the C-suite of leading financial services organisations
    • Documenting requirements, building financial models, and engaging in creative problem-solving
    • Working across a variety of Strategy and Deal projects , ranging from 1-4 months
    • Attending social events to integrate into the Alpha team

    Candidate profile – what we’re looking for

    • Predicted or achieved a 2:1 or above from university
    • Have a genuine interest in advisory, asset and wealth management and insurance industries
    • Be highly ambitious, proactive and be able to flourish in a fast-paced environment
    • Possess an entrepreneurial and commercial mindset
    • Have strong problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset
    • Willingness to be part of a team which enjoys working hard and socialising together
    • An interest in developing the division and contributing to business development

    The Alpha Strategy & Deals team is a global practice that operates in both London and New York. Candidates should note this job will be based in London and regular office attendance will be expected. Most of our team work from the office four days a week.
