    We are looking for a Forecasting analyst to join our Energy Markets Team on a permanent basis. This role is paying from £35,505 - £47,699 along with a market leading benefits package.

    Here's what you'll be doing

    We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team in an analytical and highly numerate capacity. In this role, you will be responsible for generating power and gas volume forecasts for E.ON UK's business, covering all forecasting timescales. This pivotal position involves utilising analytical tools and methodologies to provide accurate and insightful projections essential for effective business planning and decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of power and gas markets, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.     Key responsibilities

    • Using quantitative and qualitative techniques to provide high quality, accurate volume forecasts of the future energy requirements of E.ON UK’s customers, from which forward energy wholesale purchases are transacted.
    • Utilising robust analytical methods generate results from inputs, while challenging and reviewing methodologies to continually improve forecasting performance.
    • Demonstrate great stakeholder management; requiring a strong capability for prioritising and promoting change to meet challenging timescales, while maintaining quality and flexibility for customers.
    • Building strong relationships across E.ON Energy Markets, commercial services and the wider E.ON group, actively supporting team development.
    • Demonstrating an aptitude for problem solving, innovation and high attention to detail.
    • Using operational excellence to drive a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Working on IS developments (Python & SAS), contributing to the definition of requirements and supporting co-ordination work across Volume Forecasting to implement changes.
    • Contributing to ad hoc projects, as requested, supporting the wider business through use of modelling and analytical techniques to implement solutions to commercial challenges facing the business.

    What we need from you

    Essential

    • Highly numerate with degree or equivalent in a relevant subject.
    • The ability to assimilate information quickly.
    • Strong commercial analysis skills with good attention to detail.
    • Ability to identify and work with imperfect/incomplete information and to use appropriate business rules and/or statistical/risk modelling techniques to manage uncertainty.
    • Good IT skills with the ability to design and maintain complex spreadsheet and some basic coding for example SQL/SAS/Python/VBA
    • Informal presentation skills and an ability to put across complex concepts clearly.
    • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and interface effectively with people from all levels and parts of the organisation.

    Desirable

    • Understanding of forecasting processes & techniques.
    • An understanding of the energy industry.
