We recently caught up with Anel about how she secured a Business & Integration Arch Associate role with Accenture and her top tips for Bright Network members looking to follow in her footsteps.
What stood out to you about Accenture?
What really stood out to me is that the company is fully focusing on technology. They’re using multiple grassroots channels to allow people a chance to progress in a career in technology, while not necessarily having a background in technology.
What would be your top tips to members following in your footsteps?
Do your research. It’s important to understand the role, industry and what the application process is asking of you. I also recommend structuring an application plan, possibly an excel spreadsheet tracking the roles you’ve applied to. It becomes a useful tool to keep an eye on what applications you have concurrently running.
How did Bright Network help you secure your role?
Bright Network was very helpful. I attended many events held by Bright Network, especially those centred on the Tech industry. It was great to be able to speak to employers and graduates who’d just secured a role in that firm. Gaining their understanding really helped me narrow down which aspect of Tech I’d like to move into. I found the Bright Network website also a great resource as it has a variety of pages detailing advice on applications, networking, building commercial awareness and more.
