We recently caught up with Balsharon about how they secured an Audit Graduate role with PwC and their top tips for Bright Network members looking to follow in their footsteps.
What stood out to you about PwC?
Being in my final year of university, I am currently undertaking an audit module. During the summer I took part in a three-day summer event centred around auditing, and these things provided me with real incentive to pursue a career in this field. When searching for an audit-based role I came across PwC and instantly could see the high-level work I’d be able to do, and a place to really learn and progress within the field.
What would be your top tip to members following in your footsteps?
I highly recommend researching as much as you can. I feel I successfully made it through to the scheme due to my video interview, where they ask specific questions centred around the department you’re applying for. It also requires some analysis centred on the area, and not conducting thorough research into that field would have put me in a much more difficult position to answer those questions.
How did Bright Network help you secure your role?
Last year I took part in Internship Experience UK and found it to be of extreme help. Taking part in the Finance stream, I was fortunate enough to hear from someone at PwC during the course who shared the skills the company looks for and discussed working within audit and risk assurance. Gaining that insight helped me understand how people progressed through the journey from education, to applying, to securing the role.
