Created on 30 Sep 2024

Den is a Psychology graduate from the University of Reading. She secured a graduate role as a Category Analyst at Kantar through Bright Network.

First, we’d love for you to tell us a bit about yourself.

“I've always been a very academic person. I love intellectually stimulating work and that's why I chose to work in research.

Going to university was always a given for me because I love learning!”

What motivated you to apply for the role?

"The role looked very interesting to me, as I knew I’d receive unmatched exposure with many different retailers and that I’d also receive extensive training and development.

I was attracted to Kantar because of their brilliant diversity and inclusion policies and the company culture.”

What was the application process like?

“The application process was easy and straightforward. I enjoyed taking part in the activities and video interviews and the assessment day was a great experience for networking.”

How did Bright Network help you to secure your role?

“I found the role on Bright Network and used the platform to apply.

Bright Network included the job description and benefits for the role and advice for the application, which helped me apply.”

What are you most proud of about your journey?

“I struggled to find roles I was interested in. Bright Network was very helpful because I could filter accordingly. There was also a variety of different roles to choose from, which was very good because I could not visualise what kind of job I wanted.

Staying motivated is another difficult thing when searching for jobs. Bright Network kept me motivated by emailing me tips for applications and potential jobs that were interesting and relevant.”

What have you learned from going through the application process?

“Through the process, I learned that preparation is key to succeeding.

Also, you shouldn't be afraid to ask questions and show your curiosity - interviewers love it and it reflects really well on you!”

What are your tips for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

“Stay motivated and keep applying. Slot a few hours away every week for applications and keep to it.

Also, don't narrow your search to specific roles or companies. Be open-minded and apply to roles in a field you're interested in and remember that you can work towards your dream job.”

Tell us about the future. What’s next?

“I'm excited to start my new role and see what interesting projects I can work on. I hope to develop by learning new things and building a larger professional network.”
