Evangelos’ insights into securing an Assurance Internship with EY

Created on 12 Sep 2022

We recently caught up with Evangelos who told us about securing an Assurance internship with EY, from the most challenging parts of the application to tips for how you can succeed too.

What stood out to you about EY?

The number one thing that stood out to me about EY is the large investment they put into their employees. The opportunities for education and learning are endless.

How did you make your application stand out?

I spend a lot of time researching the firm, the role, and improving my commercial awareness.

What part of the application process did you find most challenging?

The job simulation part was the most challenging. The main reason was because it was a very robotic process as there were questions where I had to open my camera and speak.

Did you receive any feedback in the past that helped with your application?

I attended an assessment centre before where I was advised to be the timekeeper during the assessment centre. That way it would indicate to the invigilators that I had good time-management skills.

What three top tips would you give to Bright Network members looking to follow in your footsteps?

  1. Research the company and role very well before you apply
  2. Practice a lot before each part of the application process
  3. Always be yourself during the assessment centre, don't try to be someone you are not. The assessors will be able to see through that.
