Graduate insight into attending a Taylor Wessing Insight Day

Created on 12 Jun 2017

We catch up with Bright Network member Ben, who recently attended the Taylor Wessing First Year Trailblazing Insight Day.

Why did you choose this firm and insight day?

Taylor Wessing is extremely innovative in the legal market. The Open Day included a business game, networking and presentations, so I knew it would be beneficial for building skills and competencies.

What was the toughest part of the application process? And your favourite part?

The toughest part of the application process was the wait. I sent my application in December and didn't find out I was successful until mid-March.

My favourite part was answering the unique application questions. They were different to most other firms' questions so it got me thinking.

Were you surprised by anything in the process?

The application questions definitely surprised me!

What three top tips would you give your fellow Bright Network members?

  1. Dress appropriately for a law firm
  2. Ask the trainees about their current work - they love to talk about it!
  3. Don't apply to too many firms

What's your lucky charm or pre-interview ritual?

A big meal.
