That's why we've set up our BrightLive webinar series to run over the coming weeks, covering everything from virtual assessments and application tips, through to how you can boost your employability skills and broaden your network (virtually). Plus, we give you the weekly updates from graduate employers on hiring and their application processes.

What’s happening this Wednesday?

Join us on Wednesday 20th May at 4pm as guest speaker Chris Stoakes gives you the top 10 things you should know about financial markets. This isn't just for future financiers though - whatever career you go into, it's important to have a basic understanding of markets and how companies operate in the modern world. Ultimately, it's developing your commerical awareness.

Chris is a leading speaker in early careers development, with a unique ability of making complex things easily understandable, so you can go into applications and interviews with the ability to talk confidently on the subject. After writing two top selling graduate career books (All you need to know about the city and All you need to know about commercial awareness), there's no-one better person to gain insights from during this time. We're delighted to have him involved in BrightLive.

How will the event work?

The event is virtual and can be accessed from anywhere in the world - you just need a laptop/computer and an internet connection. The event will run as follows:

  • 4:00-4:05 - Introduction and COVID-19 graduate careers update
  • 4:05-4:30 - Chris Stoakes' top 10 things to know about financial markets
  • 4:30-5:00 - Q&A with Chris on commercial awareness and impressing leading firms (including audience questions)
