BrightLive: Top 10 mistakes graduate recruiters see on applications

6 May 2020, 4 p.m.

We know it's a challenging time at the moment, but we're committed to supporting your career through the uncertainty of COVID-19.
That's why we've set up our BrightLive webinar series to run over the coming weeks, covering everything from virtual assessments and application tips, through to how you can boost your employability skills and broaden your network (virtually). Plus, we give you the weekly updates from graduate employers on hiring and their application processes.

What’s happening this Wednesday?

Join us between 4-5pm on Wednesday 6th May as we give you the inside track on the most common mistakes recruiters see on graduate job applications. We know you work hard on each of the applications you make for vacation schemes, internships and graduate roles, but there are still some common traps we see applicants fall into time and again that let their applications down and stop them getting the role they're after.

Professional careers coach Hannah Salton will be joined by our very own recruitment expert Ben Triggs, to tell you how you can identify and avoid these common mistakes in your applications. Doing so will make you a stronger candidate as well as improve your chances of going on to secure the roles you're applying for.

This really is a great opportunity to get inside the mind of a graduate recruiter, and stop you making any of the classic mistakes they see in applications before you hit submit!

Who’s running the event?

Our own recruitment expert Ben Triggs will be joined by professional careers coach Hannah Salton, together combining years of experience of graduate recruitment to give you the very best insight.

Hannah is a qualified executive coach, career consultant and former corporate graduate recruiter. She spent the first eight years of her career recruiting graduate talent for leading international corporations, including telecoms giant BT and elite law firm Allen & Overy.

In 2017 she transitioned to a career in coaching and professional development, specialising in helping graduates achieve ambitious career goals. Through her one-to-one coaching programmes, she helps people develop the skills, confidence and awareness to secure their dream job.
