Diversity and inclusion at Man Group

Book open Reading time: 2 mins

Differences in education, background and life experience mean our people react and think differently, solve problems differently and make decisions differently. Attracting and retaining the best people across the board allows us to tap into their distinct perspectives and access unique opportunities.

Our Practice

The diversity of our practice is already something of which we are proud, but there is still a lot to do. We set an example that other firms are following and importantly we share ideas and best practice across our global practice. Our programmes and initiatives create opportunities and generate real change, so that all our people are supported to achieve their full potential and help us achieve ours.

Initiatives

The Global Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Council (GDIAC)

Established in December 2012, provides a source of co-ordinated and consistent leadership on all diversity and inclusion related activity and practice.

We are a founder member of Prime, an initiative to improve fair access to the legal profession by providing high-quality work experience for young people from less advantaged backgrounds.

We are signed members of the Social Mobility Business Compact

Launched in the UK by the Deputy Prime Ministerís office, it commits us to making access to work opportunities fair and open.

In addition, we also have longstanding relationships with reforming programmes including,  Pure Potential,Sponsorship for Educational Opportunity  and the Social Mobility Foundation which seeks to improve access to students from under-represented black and ethnic minority backgrounds into our trainee population.

We have been awarded the Disability Two Ticks Symbol by Jobcentre Plus

This is for adopting a proactive approach to employing disabled people and trying to create a more diverse workforce. We also advertise our opportunities on Great with Disability.

Our Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender and Allies network (LGBTa)

Focused on fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all of our LGBT employees and clients, while creating a dynamic LGBT community within the firm.

Our women's network

This provides learning and networking opportunities for partners, employees and clients.

Our multi-faith prayer room

Located in our London office provides space for prayer or quiet contemplation.
