    Meet Jessica

Jessica graduated with First Class Honours in Sociology and Criminology and is now on our Future Leaders graduate programme.

"I’ve always been open minded. During my degree, I volunteered with victims of crime and did outreach work with the homeless. The police or prison service was certainly an option, but I’ve always had a passion for travel and had worked in high-end service – and no-one does that like British Airways. And one other thing: my mum was in Cabin Crew!

"The Future Leaders graduate programme comprises placements over three years, so there’s real scope to explore what British Airways has to offer, develop a range of skills and stretch myself. I’m currently on placement as Duty Flight Crew Manager within Flight Operations. It’s a complex, frontline role that has given me a lot of responsibility. I’m free to think and act independently but the safety and security of our customers and Flight Crew are paramount in every decision I make. And no two days are the same. My role exposes me to so many people and it’s great to come into work not going what will come my way that day.

“Giving back is important to me and British Airways is big on corporate social responsibility.”

"But that’s not the only reason why I love being here. Giving back is important to me – I’m competing in four marathons in aid of the Bobby Moore Fund which aims to beat bowel cancer – and British Airways is big on corporate social responsibility. It’s also great connecting with the wider British Airways’ community, there are so many talented and inspiring people here. And I have time to continue my interest in criminology, subscribing to the Howard League for Penal Reform and being glued to any news item or documentary on the subject!"
